Team HWR: Bride of the Month

We love our brides and want to share the love! For the month of March and our very first bride, we have the lovely Sally Anne from the UK. Team HWR stylist Kristina Kupcake  did her hair and makeup for her recent Valentines Day wedding! Sally shared her HWR experience, special moments from her day and inspirations for her look with us!

Where are you from?

I’m from Birmingham in the UK.

How did you find Heads Will Roll Beauty Salon?

I heard about Heads Will Roll from a Facebook group Rock n Roll Bride. A thread about Vegas brides popped up and a few of the ladies mentioned Heads Will Roll. It sounded like such a fantastic name and when I googled it and saw that you also do hair and make up for VLV I knew I’d found ‘the one’.

Tell us more about your wedding day, from the planning, your location, dress, any special moments you’d like to share.

We got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2015 ( Stuart had the proposal engraved onto a charm for my bracelet and attached it to a bow tie around our cats neck) and the only planning we made was a vague notion that we would go to Las Vegas and do it in style. Fast forward to Christmas 2015 and after a few cocktails we meandered into the travel agents and, on a whim, decided to ask if there was anything available for Valentine’s Day 2016. Before we knew it, it was booked!
Luckily, my wedding dress was almost finished. I fell in love with a tattoo style dress from The  Couture Company and the talented Jo, had been busy making it since October. I had a few adjustments made on my version such as adding sleeves and my own tattoos- a mermaid, black cat, playing cards, cherries and mine and Stuart’s names stitched on as well.

How was your HWR experience, from your first inquiry to the end of your appointment?

When I contacted Heads Will Roll, the response was super fast and friendly. I immediately felt at ease and knew that I would get exactly what I wanted. As I was only travelling in the day before the wedding, there would be no time for a trial so it was really important that I could trust all would go well.  The prices and options were also very clear so I knew exactly what I would get.

Tell us more about why you love the vintage style. What were your inspirations for your hair and makeup look on your wedding day?

On the day of the wedding Kristina turned up exactly on the dot and was so warm and friendly. Stuart was planning on making himself scarce during the appointment but decided to stay and chat as Kristina did my hair and make up, he even took notes on her recommendations of where to visit in Charleston and Fremont. Kristina gave me great advice on my hair and I actually went for almost the exact style she was wearing that day.  The makeup was nothing short of flawless and did not budge.
I have loved Vintage since I was tiny and grew up watching old movies with Liz Taylor and Ava Gardner. I met Stuart at Lindy Hop class and we share major love of anything 1950s. My hair and make up inspiration was classic rockabilly, red lips, eyeliner flicks and high bangs with strong eyebrows.  It matched my dress perfectly. 🙂
I’m looking forward to coming back to Las Vegas for VLV and my anniversary and I will definitely be asking Heads Will Roll to work their magic again.
